Have in mind that if you don’t have an compatible 3D monitor that works with any of the OEM versions of the TriDef 3D software this simple trick will NOT make the Retail version of the TriDef 3D software work with it.
First you need to install the OEM version of the TriDef 3D software for your hardware as it also installs a license for the 3D monitor you may have (for example the LG D2342P CINEMA 3D Monitor), then you need to uninstall it and install the latest Retail version of TriDef (currently 5.1) and it is supposed to work without asking you to activate it or get a new license as you already have the display license installed from the OEM version of the software that is originally intended to be used with your monitor. There is a simple trick that you need to do in order to get the latest Retail version of TriDef 3D installed and working with your OEM-compatible Samsung, Viewsonic, LG or AOC 3D monitor. But that does not mean that you will have to be stuck to these old versions and will have to keep waiting and hoping that DDD to release updates for them, there is a solution to get the latest TriDef 3D version 5.1 installed and working on your system… The OEM version for Viewsonic 3D monitors is a bit newer than the one for Samsung, but still a few months old, the LG and AOC OEM versions are more recent, but still older versions. If you look at DDD’s website you may notice that the OEM version of the TriDef 3D for the Samsung 3D monitors for example is already ore than half an year old and meanwhile there have been a few updates for the Retail version released.

It’s nice to see technologies like TriDef VR emerge, but it’s disappointing that MSI would lock down this tech to its own branded hardware and alienate the rest of the small VR market. If you have an MSI RX 480, you’re still going to be sitting on the sidelines. TriDef 3D Games (LG 3D Monitor/TV) is a Shareware software in the category Games & Entertainment developed by Dynamic Digital Depth Australia Pty. The software LG is relying to provide the 3D capabilities is DDD’s TriDef giving the user a 3D photo and video player, 2D to 3D video conversion and the option of gaming. MSI doesn’t even accept any AMD Radeon cards. The 3D laptop has a 15.6-inch screen with resolution of 1366×768 pixels and uses a passive polarization filter along with passive polarized glasses to provide the 3D effect. But, if you own an older MSI motherboard and a 10-series card from another brand, you don’t qualify.
I run the monitor off of DVI connected to an older PC Windows XP, sp3 rig: Athlon64 X2 6000+ 3GHz AM2 w/ 2GB RAM w/ an old Kingston. The Real-Time 2D-to-3D Conversion software works great and renders a very convincing 3D image from DVD's to 3D. Hi, I bought tridef and I need ignition to work again but the activation servers are closed.
Or if you own any of MSI’s GeForce 10-series graphics cards, you qualify. My LG D2342P-PN 3D Cinema Monitor came bundled with its own Free, TriDef Software Package. One of the guys on the Ment To Be seen forum figured a way to get Tridef working with the may update version 1903. If you have an MSI motherboard with an Intel 200 or 100-series chipset or AMD AM4 socket, you can use TriDef VR. MSI also accepts motherboard ownership and graphics card ownership as access pass for TriDef VR, but late models only. If you own one of MSI’s VR-ready gaming PCs, laptops, or a VR One backpack PC, you qualify. To use TriDef VR, you must own a qualifying hardware component from MSI.
That’s not the case with TriDev VR, though. TriDef 3D is software that you can use on any PC as long as you have a 3D display. We can’t give the same pass for TriDev VR, though. Nahimic is MSI’s favored audio technology and the company has offered Nahimic software since 2015. The restriction with the audio software makes sense. You must own at least one piece of MSI hardware to gain access to TriDef VR, Nahimic VR, or Nahimic 2+. Nahimic 2+ lets you create audio profiles for all your games and gives you the ability to customize your audio experience however you want it.
In addition to Nahimic VR, MSI released Nahimic 2+, which caters to all gamers, not just VR gamers.
